CSID, the leading provider of global, enterprise-level identity protection and fraud detection technologies and solutions, today announced the appointment of Tim Brown to the position of chief technology officer. Applying more than 20 years of experience in the information security industry, Brown will oversee all aspects of the company’s technology including development, infrastructure and security.

“Tim has long played a key role in evolving technologies to keep up with the ever-changing security threat landscape,” said Scott Cruickshank, CEO, CSID. “ His extensive experience in this area will certainly help drive the direction and development of CSID’s identity protection and fraud detection solutions as we continue our rapid, global growth. He will be a valuable asset to our executive team.”

Brown joins CSID from CA Technologies, where he served as senior vice president, distinguished engineer and chief security architect for the company’s security business unit. In this position, he was responsible for overall technical direction and oversight for the company’s security products. Before CA Technologies, Brown spent 12 years at Symantec as chief technology officer, where he was responsible for companywide technical architecture, integration, gap analysis and strategy.

Additionally, Brown currently serves on the board of Open Identity Exchange and has provided expert testimony to U.S. Congressional hearings focused on cyber security research and development and cyber security in the cloud. He also works with a number of universities and government entities doing advanced research in security and insider threat.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences from North Adams College in Massachusetts and has furthered his education through an executive management program at the Wharton School of Business. Brown is also an avid inventor with more than 20 filed patents.
